Youth Cabinet
“Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity.”
1Timothy 4:12

Meet the Youth Cabinet for the 2018-2019 school year!! :)
One of the things that we believe God has called us to do is to invest, love, and equip young men and young women in the faith (Titus 2). We want the Youth to know that they are an essential part of the body of Christ right now, and that God has called them to serve His church and this world. We believe that the call of being a leader is uniquely characterized by how Christ lived his life - with selflessness, humility, love, grace, and truth. Student leadership is a program through which we train, equip, empower and lovingly shepherd students who feel called to serve others with a Christ-like attitude.
Our hope is that through serving in Ark and Flood, student leaders will be better prepared to go out into the world to make Christ known to those that are lost. We want them to be trained through the Word and dependent on the Holy Spirit as they develop as leaders!

Evan Lam

Hi! My name is Evan and I’m a sophomore at Del Norte High School. My favorite bible verses are Colossians 3:1-8 because it reminds us how our lives on earth are insignificant as God has offered us a life in heaven with him. Because of this we should not be striving for a successful life on earth, but rather spend our time on earth living as a servant of God and putting to death all of our earthy desires. Its often difficult not to be living in a way that comforts our earthly desires, but this verse reminds us how insignificant our lives here on earth really are and how we should rather live and act according to how God would want us to.
Favorite youth memory was my first extended worship at retreat because it felt amazing to be worshiping God with such high energy levels and it felt amazing to be worshiping God together with everyone else in the room
This year on cabinet I'm looking forward to learn more lessons about how to live as a christian and hopefully would learn to better humble myself to be a servant of God and the youth. I also look forward to getting to know each person in youth and to build a relationship with them, and I would like to share with them Gods love for us as many have not truly realized how much God really loves us.

Sarah Chiu

Hey everyone! I’m Sarah and I’m a sophomore at Del Norte High School. My favorite bible verse is Isaiah 41:10 as it states, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Each and every time I read this, I’m remembered how he truly loves us all individually and is always here for us. Though at times it may be difficult to see him or you turn your back on him, it’s comforting to know that he’s here for us unconditionally. I find this to be so amazing as it shows how loving and caring he truly is.
My favorite and most influential Ark & Flood memory has to be Youth Retreat 2018 (Rooted in Him). This particular weekend immensely strengthened my relationship with Christ as the word of God really touched me and opened my eyes. Not only through the devotions and sessions, but through the extended worship session. It felt amazing to passionately shout out praises to God along with my brothers and sisters in Christ. Those are some memories that will be with me forever!
I’m so grateful and thankful to have the opportunity of serving on Cabinet this year. I look forward to getting to meet and know everyone in Ark & Flood and to establish a friendship with them and that they’ll enjoy attending Friday Night Fellowship & Sunday School. I pray that everyone can strengthen and grow in their relationship with Christ and develop a deeper understanding of God’s grace and unconditional love for us!
